Patriot Golf Day founder Captain Dan Rooney,
an F-16 Pilot in 125th Fighter Squadron
of the Oklahoma National Guard and PGA professional,
gave a moving presentation at the 2008 Illinois
PGA Spring Meeting of the membership on
how Patriot Golf Day was conceived.
The inaugural Patriot Golf Day in 2007
raised over 1.1 million with more than 3200
golf facilities participating. The initiative
supports families of veterans who have been
injured or perished in the line of duty
in Iraq or Afghanistan. The Second Annual
Patriot Golf Day will take place over Labor
Day weekend on August 29 – September
1, 2008.
